The facelifted LX 570 SUV has arrived at Lexus dealerships in the U.S. with a starting price of $80,930 or $81,805 (*) after a delivery, processing and handling fee of $875, which represents an increase of 1.9 percent or $1,475 over the outgoing model. The Japanese brand's largest SUV enters the new model year with a fresh face sporting the new Lexus grille along with tweaked headlamps featuring LED daytime running lights and a restyled front bumper. Other changes include the updated tail lamps and rear bumper, exterior mirrors with turning signals and wider bodyside moldings.
Interior improvements concern a new multimedia system, a color TFT multi-information display, front seat cooling, a power outlet for the middle row and refreshed trims and accents.
Like its sister model from Toyota, the 2013 LX 570 receives a raft of new safety and handling features including an updated Crawl Control and the Turn Assist feature that allows for tighter turning circles by adding more brake force to the inside rear wheel.
Power comes from a 5.7-liter V8 engine that churns out 383 horsepower and 403 lb.-ft. of torque.
Optional packages for U.S. buyers include the Luxury kit priced at $1,510, which adds a cool box, leather-trimmed upholstery with contrast stitching, a heated steering wheel, wood-trimmed door switch plates, a rear-center armrest cover, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats and Smart Access card key.
For another $2,005, Lexus will fit the LX 580 with a dual screen rear-seat entertainment system with wireless headphones and three-prong electrical outlet.
