To celebrate the DS3's commercial success, Citroën presented a special edition version of the supermini called the Ultra Prestige at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show. Now, the DS3 special has landed in Britain and is available for order with on-the-road prices set at £20,700 (US$31,900 / €24,800) for the petrol model and £20,900 for the diesel-powered variant (US$32,200 / €25,100).
What makes the Ultra Prestige special are its interior (primarily) and exterior appointments. While based on the DSport trim level, the Ultra Prestige features bespoke front seats fitted with ‘watchstrap’ design seat upholstery in a two-tone ‘Club’ leather.
Furthermore, the dashboard strip is covered in ‘Alpine’ white leather, embossed with the DS signature, while the instrument dials are trimmed in white to match the rest of the interior and leather trim is fitted to the door panels and central armrest.
Among other standard features, the special edition DS3 gets an automatic air conditioning, a Bluetooth enabled Hi-Fi system, Citroën’s integrated MyWay colour navigation system, rear parking sensors, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers, electrically heated and folding door mirrors and an electrochrome rear view mirror.
On the outside, buyers can choose between two body colors - Polar White and Thorium Grey, both of which come with a black roof sporting the DS insignia. A roof spoiler, dark-tinted side and rear windows, and 17-inch charcoal-grey alloy wheels round out the look.
The petrol version is powered by the THP 155HP engine linked to a 6-speed manual delivering 47.1mpg UK (39.2mpg US or 6.0lt/100km), while the diesel model features the e-HDI 110HP with start/stop and a 6-speed manual, which returns 74.4mpg UK (61.9mpg US or 3.8lt/100km) on the combined cycle and emits 99g of CO2/km.
